Inpatient Lead Coder – Remote Contract Job
We are seeking an Inpatient Lead Coder for a short-term remote healthcare contract supporting high-priority inpatient medical coding initiatives. In this work-from-home role, you will focus on DRG MM reconciliations, coding query validation, and related coding support tasks while helping maintain accuracy, compliance, and documentation quality. This 6-8 week contract offers the potential for extension based on workload and performance.

- Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,772 - $1,969
- Employment Type: Direct contract
- Work Setting: Remote
- Schedule: 5 shifts per week
- Shift Duration: 8-hour day shifts
- Hours: 40 hours per week
- Start Date: 6/30/2025
- Contract Length: 6-8 weeks with potential extension

Job Requirements
- Strong inpatient coding expertise with the ability to support DRG reconciliation and coding validation work
- Excellent written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- Experience with Epic and 3M CAC preferred
- Ability to work independently while maintaining accuracy and productivity in a remote professional healthcare environment
- Auditing or CDI experience is welcome when supported by strong coding knowledge
Responsibilities
- Perform DRG MM reconciliations accurately and efficiently
- Validate coding queries to support compliant, complete clinical documentation and accurate inpatient coding
- Assist with assigned coding-related tasks and workflow priorities
- Support documentation accuracy and coding quality initiatives
- Contribute to production coding as needed, including approximately 15% of time when applicable
- Collaborate with internal teams to ensure timely completion of healthcare coding projects
