• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,280 - $1,422
• Location: Remote (Work From Home) — supporting Lakeland, Florida (33805); proximity to Tampa and Orlando
• Employment Type: Remote / Telecommute medical coding job
• Schedule: 5 shifts per week, 8-hour shifts (flexible schedule)
• Start Date: June 1, 2026
• Duration: 52 weeks
• Setting: Large acute care hospital — 851-bed, Level 2 trauma center (hospital coding, inpatient coding)

Qualifications / Job Requirements

• 5+ years of recent inpatient coding experience required (hospital coding, acute care)
• Active CCS, RHIT, or RHIA certification required
• Recent experience with Cerner EMR and 3M (including 3M 360 CAC)
• Proficient with ICD-10-CM and ICD-10-PCS coding; strong clinical knowledge across specialties
• Comfortable initiating clinical documentation queries (expectation ~5 queries/day)
• Demonstrated ability to meet productivity (2.6 charts/hour) and accuracy (95%) standards
• Familiarity with Clinical Documentation Improvement (CDI) principles and hospital coding workflows
• Ability to work securely from a remote home office (HIPAA-compliant practices and reliable high-speed internet)

Key Responsibilities

• Assign accurate diagnostic and procedural codes to inpatient records using ICD-10-CM/PCS
• Initiate and document queries to clarify clinical documentation and ensure coding accuracy
• Code a wide variety of inpatient cases including Cardiac, Neuro, Oncology, Ortho, OB, Moms & Babies, and NICU
• Use Cerner EMR and 3M (3M 360 CAC) to abstract, validate, and code charts
• Meet established productivity and accuracy benchmarks while maintaining compliance with coding guidelines
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay current with coding and regulatory changes
