Director - Healthcare Dining Services

A respected and well-established Skilled Nursing Facility is seeking an experienced Dining Services Director to lead all aspects of culinary and dining operations within a large long-term care environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on leader who is passionate about hospitality, resident satisfaction, team development, and regulatory excellence.

Position Summary

The Dining Services Director will oversee the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring high-quality meal service, regulatory compliance, budget management, and an exceptional dining experience for residents, patients, staff, and guests. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, operational expertise, and a commitment to person-centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct and manage all dining services operations for a large Skilled Nursing Facility
• Lead, mentor, and develop dietary staff including supervisors, cooks, aides, and support personnel
• Ensure compliance with all federal, state, local, and sanitation regulations
• Oversee menu planning in collaboration with clinical and nutrition teams
• Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and resident satisfaction
• Manage departmental budgets, purchasing, inventory, and cost controls
• Coordinate special events, therapeutic diets, and catering needs
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness, safety, and infection control
• Partner with interdisciplinary leadership to support overall resident care and satisfaction

Qualifications

• Previous leadership experience in healthcare dining, long-term care, hospital, or senior living food service required
• Experience managing dining operations in a Skilled Nursing Facility strongly preferred
• Knowledge of therapeutic diets, sanitation standards, and regulatory compliance
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
• Certified Dietary Manager (CDM) and/or ServSafe certification preferred
• Ability to lead large teams in a fast-paced healthcare environment
