Outpatient Coder in Orlando, FL – On-site, full-time role for experienced ambulatory/ED medical coders proficient in EPIC and 3M360. Join a collaborative Health Information Management (HIM) team in a busy Florida healthcare setting with a flexible daytime schedule and weekend coverage required.

• EPIC Training: All?day EPIC training required (offered Wednesdays)

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Minimum 1 year of outpatient/ambulatory medical coding experience (surgeries, ED, OBS, OPS)
• Proficient with EPIC and 3M360 coding systems (EPIC ambulatory workflows)
• Ability to code OPS, ED, OBS and recurring cases (not ED only)
• Demonstrated productivity for outpatient coding (target: 5–6 surgeries/hour; 12–15 ED charts/hour)
• Commitment to a 40?hour workweek with weekend availability
• Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and time management for high?volume coding
• Excellent communication skills for schedule updates, reporting, and team collaboration
• Certification (CPC, CCA, CCS) or active pursuit of certification is a plus

Key Responsibilities

• Accurately perform outpatient/ambulatory medical coding for a varied chart mix, including surgical cases and ED charts
• Move efficiently between coding queues and support multiple ambulatory workstreams as needed
• Complete PreBill review for the first 20 charts, then monthly 10?chart reviews as assigned
• Submit weekly productivity, quality, and schedule reports to the coding lead
• Participate in ongoing coding audits and collaborate closely with the audit and HIM teams
• Attend full?day EPIC training (regardless of prior EPIC experience) and apply training to daily workflows
• Communicate schedule changes promptly and respond to emails and team communications in a timely manner
