Job Details

• Position: Hematology-Oncology Physician
• Location: Paducah, Kentucky
• Employment Type: Locum tenens
• Setting: 95% clinic / 5% hospital
• Patient Population: 100% adults
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM
• Call: 3-6 potential night call shifts per month, 5:00 PM-7:00 AM
• Shift Duration: 8-hour shifts
• Hours Per Week: 40
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Start Date: October 1, 2026
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $10,030-$11,880
• EMR: Epic
• Average Daily Census: 22 patients/day
• New Consults: 2-3 per day

Job Requirements

• Board Certified in Hematology or Medical Oncology
• Completion of a Hematology/Oncology Fellowship
• Active Kentucky medical license preferred
• BLS and ACLS required
• Experience with outpatient and inpatient Hem/Onc care required
• Intrathecal chemotherapy experience required
• Intracavitary chemotherapy experience preferred
• COVID vaccination required
• Self-query NPDB report required within 30 days of presentation
• At least 1 year of relevant experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive hematology-oncology care for adult patients
• Manage a mix of clinic-based and inpatient consultative services
• Evaluate new consults and follow-up patients in a busy oncology practice
• Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, and the care team to support coordinated treatment plans
• Participate in scheduled night call coverage as needed
• Deliver care using Epic EMR and maintain accurate clinical documentation
• Support ongoing oncology and hematology treatment planning, including chemotherapy-related care
